Welcome to Berwyn Heights — A Proud Bee City!
In March of 2022, Berwyn Heights was officially designated as a Bee City — joining a growing network of communities across the country dedicated to protecting pollinators and the habitats they depend on.
The Bee City USA program endorses a set of commitments, defined in a community resolution, that promote healthy, sustainable environments for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators.
Pollinators play a vital role in feeding our planet and our local communities — from backyards to farmers’ markets. By creating and maintaining safe habitats for pollinators, we help ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy the fruits, vegetables, and flowers that depend on them.
How We Support Pollinators
As a Bee City, Berwyn Heights is committed to:
-
Increasing native plants and habitats for pollinators.
-
Reducing pesticide use and promoting safer alternatives.
-
Educating our community about the importance of pollinators.
-
Hosting community events and activities to celebrate and protect our local ecosystems.
Get Involved!
Whether you plant native flowers in your garden, join a community clean-up, or spread the word to neighbors, everyone can help make Berwyn Heights a welcoming place for pollinators.
Together, we’re making our town bloom — for us and for the bees!
