PURPOSE: The NW/EP Committee is organized for the purpose of harnessing the energy of every resident through education, training, and volunteer service to help make the Town of Berwyn Heights safer, stronger, more resilient and better able to respond to crime, natural disasters, public health issues, and threats of terrorism.

You CAN make a difference!
If you are 16 or older and would like to help others enhance safety for our children, families, and neighborhoods, you are welcome to join the Neighborhood Watch/Emergency Preparedness Committee. We are looking for community-minded people to become involved.
ACTIVITIES:
- Members work to improve effective community outreach, through designing the monthly submission for the Berwyn Heights (BH) Bulletin and manning tables at community events such as BH Day and National Night Out
- Members conduct/sponsor at least two events annually for BH residents that fulfill the NW/EP Committee’s mission
- Members maintain the NW/EP Committee trailer, and its contents, in good working condition, and provide an inventory to the Berwyn Heights Police Department (BHPD)
- Members may be approved to attend training and conferences paid by the NW/EP Committee that further the mission of the Committee
- Members participate in BHPD service projects (e.g., Halloween night patrol; BH Elementary School monitors on the first day of school)
