The Administration Department keeps our Town government running smoothly and responsibly — always putting our residents first. We’re here to answer your questions, address your concerns, connect different Town departments, and make sure the Town Council’s policies are carried out effectively.


What We Do

Finance

Who: 
The Town Manager, with help from the Town Treasurer and Town Clerk

What we do:

  • Collect all taxes and fees owed to the Town and pay the Town’s bills on time.

  • Carefully manage and invest Town funds.

  • Keep accurate records of all money coming in and going out.

  • Provide regular financial updates to the Town Council.

  • Prepare the annual Town Budget.

  • Coordinate independent audits to review Town finances.

  • Handle bi-weekly payroll and related reports.

Human Resources

Who: 
The Town Manager and Town Clerk

What we do:

  • Manage hiring, pay, and job classifications for all Town departments.

  • Oversee employee benefits like health insurance and pensions.

Public Meetings & Information

Who: 
The Town Clerk, working with the Town Council and Town Manager

What we do:

  • Announce and prepare all official Town meetings.

  • Record meetings through minutes and BHTV video.

  • Certify official actions like ordinances and agreements.

  • Oversee Town elections with the help of an independent Board of Election Supervisors.

  • Manage Town records — both paper and electronic.

  • Keep you informed about Town news, activities, and events through newsletters, mailers, our website, and public access TV.

Other Services

Who: The Town Manager, with staff and trusted vendors

What we do:

  • Provide a helpful service counter open to the public during weekday hours.

  • Clean, maintain, and rent out Town buildings and parks.

  • Manage the Town’s IT systems to keep things running smoothly.
