On Sunday July 22, 2012 at 3:31 pm, officers from the Berwyn Heights Police Department were dispatched to the 8600 block of 57th Avenue for a call to check on a welfare. A forced entry was made with the assistance of the fireboard and a 36 y/o, w/f, was located in the basement suffering from a laceration to her neck. She was pronounced deceased. On Monday June 23, 2012 at 10:00 am, the Prince George's County Police Homicide and the patrol division apprehended a person of interest after a fast chase came to an end in the area of the College Park Metro. Andrew Kugler a 37 y/o, w/m, was charged with 2nd degree murder. The aforementioned is being investigated by the Homicide Division of the Prince George's County Police.
