Older Americans Month Resource Fair
The County’s Department of Family Services is celebrating Older Americans Month! Residents are invited to attend the “Age My Way” Information Fair on Tuesday, May 17, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Participants will be able to explore the many ways older adults can remain in and be involved with their communities and will receive information about programs and services for seniors. Prince George’s County Hosting Free CPR/AED classes in May
On May 11 and May 25, the Office of Emergency Management will be hosting a free Community First Aid and Basic CPR class at their office off Central Avenue in Hyattsville (7915 Anchor Street, Hyattsville, MD 20785). Classes start at 6:00 pm. You must register in advance:

Maryland Public Schools Strategic Planning Survey
The Maryland State Board of Education and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) are drafting a multi-year strategic plan for the future of Maryland's education system. Public schools serve to develop our future workforce and future community leaders, and it is critical that we hear from as many people as possible as we work through this process. The survey will help guide implementation of the multi-year strategic plan (the “Blueprint for Maryland’s Future) to transform public education.

New Grant Opportunities Available
The Prince George’s County Arts and Humanities (PGCAH) is pleased to announce two new grant opportunities. We welcome requests to support local art education programming and film projects that align with the mission, vision, and direction of PGAHC.
Grants for Filmmakers: The Prince George’s Film Office Film Grant Program’s goal is to support and provide financial and technical assistance to filmmakers and other digital visual artists who plan to film in Prince George’s County using Prince George’s resources, workforce and businesses. The Film Grants Program will make awards up to $45,000 per production/project to support filmmakers and digital visual creatives in telling their stories and support a variety of production projects. https://www.pgahc.org/grant/filmofficegrantprogram 
Community Grants: PGAHC has focused its FY2022 Community Grant Program on its Arts in Education Program (AIEP) category, which is designed to support artists, arts educators, and organizations that provide high-quality arts & cultural activities to youth in educational settings from K- 12th grade.
