Greater Riverdale Spring Health Fair 

Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5711 Sarvis Avenue, Riverdale Park, MD. 

All family members are welcome. Insurance and ID are NOT required. There will also be fun activities for children!  There will be tons of FREE health services and information available: Diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings; Vision screenings; Making appointments for follow-up care; Dental and mental health education; Adult COVID-19 vaccines and test kits; WIC enrollment and Assistance enrolling in health insurance.  https://www.riverdaleparkmd.info/news_detail_T6_R252.php

 

Department of Parks and Recreation Prince George’s County

They are creating a “Children’s Mental Health Matters” Coloring Book, and the theme is: “Express Yourself...Create Connections.”  Artists ages 14 – 21 are invited to submit drawings that will be published in this original coloring book that will bring awareness to important mental health issues. 

Those interested in submitting artwork independently for the coloring book can do so by emailing their pictures to coreyh.smith@pgparks.com

Submissions are due no later than May 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm.

Register for K-5 Summer Reading and Math Tutoring

The PGCPS system is excited to continue their partnership with BookNook to close learning gaps and strengthen literacy skills! Families with students in kindergarten through fifth grades are encouraged to register for summer math and reading tutoring sessions led by accredited virtual tutors. The summer BookNook program will run from Monday, July 11 through Friday, August 19, three days a week. The deadline to register is Friday, May 27.  https://www.booknooklearning.com/pgcps-summer-2022/
