Nevada Street Trail Construction Project Starting November 25

The Prince George’s County Department of the Environment (DER) will be doing an outfall and stream restoration project at the dead-end of Nevada Street.  The project will convert the eroded stream banks into a step-pool and riffle stream system and reconnect the stream to its floodplain to reduce the amount of sediment eroded from the stream banks and to increase the amount of water infiltrating into the ground.

Construction will be on-going through the winter months. Residents can expect to see and hear construction machinery from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and occasionally on the weekends.  A detour will be institutued for the Nevada Street trail.  Residents are encouraged to avoid using the trail while the project is under construction.

For questions about the project, please call Jerome Moffor, the construction project manager, at 301-883-7424.
